Ventspils Region Travel Guide with a map now available

For the first time, the Ventspils Region Municipality has developed a travel guide with a map. On the cover it reads “Ventspils Region – Environmentally Friendly Tourism Destination”, as in the municipality development programme this territory is positioned as a green region endowed with rich natural resources and unique cultural heritage.
The foldable travel guide is published in Latvian, English and Russian with a total number of 8000 copies printed. It includes 200 sites grouped by parishes and divided in the following categories: tourist attractions; active leisure; accommodations and recreation areas; cafes and inns; other rural delicacies. In the first four categories, the sites are indicated with their respective GPS coordinates and locations marked on the map.
The travel guide contains 42 photographs, as well as several pictures of those submitted by the locals earlier this year, following an invitation of the municipality. The travel guide includes the works of Līga Sondare, Uģis Dadzis, Aleksandrs Hmeļņickis, Tatjana Udoda, Līga Arāja, Dace Pūpoliņa and Gunita Zernevica.
The Ventspils Region Travel Guide with a map will be available in the Tourism Information Centre of Ventspils, as well as the largest tourism attraction sites of the region, cafes and parish councils. According to Evita Roģe, the project manager and business and tourism specialist who developed the travel guide, the municipality will also use it as presentation material.
