World-class athletes, amateurs and other extreme sports enthusiasts will come together in Ventspils for the ninth time

The Ghetto Games Festival, which is the largest alternative sports and street culture event in the Baltic States, will bring together world-class athletes, amateurs and other extreme sports enthusiasts in Ventspils for the ninth time. This summer, this will be the first and definitely most visited festival in Latvia.

The Ghetto Games Festival in Ventspils is a family-friendly street sports and cultural event, which, each year, brings together world-class leaders in extreme sports in Ventspils. GG Fest is a place of world-class extreme sports enthusiasts, extreme experiences, street culture, enthusiasm, friendship, conversations and excellent delicious food.
Set apart two days from 23 to 25 July to be part of the GG Fest!
The highlights of the festival this year will be the Ghetto Freestyle Rap Battle, the Ghetto Fight and the Ghetto Slam Dunk Challenge for both adults and juniors.
The Ghetto Freestyle Rap Battle allows both young people and experienced freestyle rappers to challenge each other in front of a large audience and jury. Sharp words combined with humour, ingenious statements with unsuccessful word combinations, and bright ideas with outstanding performance. The emotions are running high when being watched by hundreds of people who both cheer the rappers up and, if necessary, boo them, thus creating a real, genuine ghetto atmosphere.Ghetto Fight is a mixed martial arts (MMA) league for semi-professionals/amateurs. The organization aims at developing and promoting young athletes, helping them becoming professionals. This year, in Ventspils, the visitors will be able to see 15 fights. The Slam Dunk Challenge, on the other hand, is a unique basketball experience, as it brings together the best dunkers. This event is definitely one of the most expected events of the season for all Ghetto Games followers and friends, similarly as the GG Fest in Ventspils.
Let's not forget about one of the favourite places of the locals - the skatepark. This year, four federation competitions will take place there: the Latvian Inline Cup 2021, the Ghetto Games round of the Vents Latvian Skateboard League, the BMX Park 2021 and the extreme Rideoo scooter competition.
Apart of the extreme sports, also the Ghetto Basket Tournament, the Ghetto Football Tournament and the Ghetto Floorball Tournament will take place. The athletes will be able to participate also in the Ghetto Football Panna 1v1 Tournament and the Ghetto Dance battles.The GG Fest brings together people who want to prove themselves and get to know like-minded people. It is a festival to celebrate the passion for extreme sports.Another highlight of the festival this year is the Ghetto Street Food festival, bringing together various caterers. The GG Fest organizer recommends that all parties involved in the event use masks or face coverings (scarfs or mouth-nose coverings) at places, where crowding is expected and it is not possible to keep a distance of 2 meters. However, only visitors who are able to present a certificate attesting that a person has been vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19, will be admitted to the stands during the event.Persons subject to isolation, quarantine or strict isolation or showing signs of a respiratory infection will not be allowed at the venues of the GG Fest.All persons involved in the GG Fest, upon entering any competition area where a person is required to present the respective QR code and/or bracelet, must present it without being required to do so by the security, in order to keep the communication and physical contact to a minimum.See you soon in Ventspils! www.ggfest.com
