Ventspils celebrates its 731st anniversary

The events within the Ventspils City Festival are to take place from 5 to 8 August 2021, with the central events on 7 August 2021. The festive events will bring together visitors of all ages in the city parks and squares.
Ventspils celebrates its 731st anniversary
In preparation for the City Festival on 5 August 2021, the visitors will have the opportunity to hear the world's favourite rock ballads in the Concert Hall "Latvija". On 6 August 2021, a festive opening ceremony will take place in the amphitheatre of the Concert Hall "Latvija", including the City Festival opening concert and the annual ceremony of giving out the Great Award of the City Council and other awards. 
A wide range of events are to take place on 7 August 2021, such as the Medieval Festival in the Castle of the Livonian Order, the Design Fair in the Park "Reņķa dārzs", the Book Fair and the Digital Fair, the Large Festival Terrace and the Battle of Tastes, as well as 3x3 basketball tournaments and the show of the strongest men, street markets of artisans, home-made products and the most delicious food in the entire city and so much more. 

Musical performances and festive concerts all day long, true to the slogan of the City Festival "The Sounds of Ventspils". The local musicians and popular Latvian artists will step on the same stage. The evening programme offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the only concert of the legendary band "Jumprava" this year. Afterwards 23.30 "Musiqq" and around 01.00 - "Singapūras Satīns". 

At the culmination of the City Festival, the visitors will be given the opportunity to look back at the developments over the past year, demonstrating the film "Ventspils 700+31", to be followed by the speech of Jānis Vītoliņš, the Major of the city of Ventspils. At the conclusion, bright fireworks will illuminate the night sky, evidenced by the visitors in different places throughout the city.

On 8 August 2021, as a conclusion of the City Festival, the young residents of Ventspils will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities in the Children's Town and in the Children's Park "Fantāzija". The Seaside Open-Air Museum, on the other hand, invites you to visit the artisans fair and enjoy demonstrations and workshops of different crafts. In the Concert Hall "Latvija", the artist and producer Hendrik Weber, also known as Pantha Du Prince, will give his only concert in the Baltic States.
