The diverse concert programme features both new and classical music pieces by Nordic and Baltic composers. A special treat at the concert will be the premiere of a song for the male-voice choir created by the Latvian composer Raimonds Tiguls.

As a soloist, the audience will hear the award-winning and world-renown operatic soprano Hanna Husáhr, while Folke Alin will perform on the grand piano. The special guest will be the Latvian organist Ilze Reine.

"Orphei Drängar" was founded in 1853 in Uppsala, Sweden, as a singing society. Over the last decade, the choir has made several concert tours in North America and the Far East, while in its native Sweden, "Orphei Drängar" has performed several times on television, including the wedding day concert of the Crown Princess. The choir has collaborated with the world-famous Finnish orchestral conductor Esa Pekka Salonen - the last time in 2016 and 2017, as the Polar Music Prize winner Peter Sellars staged the oratorio "Oedipus rex" by Igor Stravinsky. It was later performed also at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, the Royal Festival Hall in London, as well as the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. "Phrasing", "purity", "precision", and "very peculiar and dynamic effects" are other words that are often used to describe the sound of the choir. The unique sound of "Orphei Drängar" is a blend of young, lighter voices with older, more mature ones. Over the years, the outstanding choral conductors of the choirs have contributed greatly to its success. In autumn 2008, the current choral conductor Cecilia Rydinger Alin took over her duties as conductor from Robert Sund, whose predecessor for more than 40 years was Eric Ericson. Earlier, the choral conductor was Hugo Alfvén. 

During her career, the opera singer Hanna Husáhr has performed in the Drottningholm Palace Theatre, as well as stepped onto the stage of national opera houses in Bergen and Riga. Until recently, she performed as Pamina in Mozart's "The Magic Flute" at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. H. Husáhr is also a beloved concert performer with a wide repertoire ranging from early Baroque music to contemporary music. Furthermore, she has worked with many orchestral conductors, such as Leif Segerstam, Manfred Honeck, Daniel Harding, and Herbert Blomstedt. H. Husáhr has been granted several scholarships. In 2016, she won the Mozart Award at the Wilhelm Stenhammer International Music Competition.
