The guide "Ventspils Under the Christmas Lights" will lead you through the city streets twinkling with Christmas lights, allowing you to discover decorated Christmas trees marked at 9 locations on the map. The guide is available for download at visitventspils.com, whereas the printed version is always available in the Tourism Information Centre in Dārza iela 6.  

 

Another large Christmas tree adorned with twinkling lights and festive décor on the Town Hall Square brings the joy of Christmas to all passers-by. The trees nearby are illuminated by Christmas lights, whereas the streetlamps are adorned with angels blowing trumpets, thus inviting everyone to visit Bethlehem to find the illuminated nativity scene. In the city centre, you will be able to capture magical festive mood, walking down the illuminated alley Laikrakstu aleja and passing trees decorated with sparkling umbrellas. Nearby, on the square Dzirnavu laukums, a romantic atmosphere is created by large-sized candles arranged in a circle in the middle of the square. Walking down the street Kuldīgas iela, a festive mood is created by a string of light bulbs in the trees. Each week, one candle will be lit in the Advent wreath as a Christmas countdown. The street Lielais prospekts is beautifully decorated, with strings of light bulbs in the trees and all 12 Chinese zodiac signs, including the symbol of the upcoming year of 2022 - a figure of tiger on the square Lielais laukums.

 

Until 23 December, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the House of Crafts invites you to go for a holiday journey, with special surprises on Saturdays. Entrance with the museum tickets. On 

17 December, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., everyone is welcome to decorate the Christmas tree in the Dorbe garden at the Herberts Dorbe Museum "Senču putekļi. The guests are welcome to decorate the Christmas tree of the Dorbe Museum with their favourite Latvian alphabet letters and enjoy real Christmas mood. On 25 December, at 1:00 p.m., everyone, especially families with children, are invited to the performance "The Winter Tale" on the yard of the House of Crafts. Participation by the travelling circus "Beztemata". The circus performers, together with the spectators, will perform three Christmas stories by Margarita Stāraste - "Why Does the Snow Shimmer?", "Christmas Night in the Kitchen", and "The Christmas of the White Rabbit". In between the performances, the spectators will have the opportunity to complete tasks to prove their strength, wisdom, agility, and diligence, participating in a lottery, activities, games, and collective singing. On 25 December, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., everyone is welcome to celebrate the Christmas of the small locomotive Mazbānītis at the Seaside Open-Air Museum, taking a walk within the territory of the Seaside Open-Air Museum, visiting the decorated Boat House, and going for a ride by the small locomotive Mazbānītis, which is decorated with Christmas lights. 

 

On 19 December, the world-famous Icelandic singer and song writer Sóley will perform a programme created especially for this concert. At this only concert in the Baltic States, to be held before Christmas in Ventspils, Sóley will not perform alone. She will be accompanied by the string ensemble of Icelandic-Latvian musicians-melancholics called "Ensemble Melancholia". On 

22 December, the Ventspils Big Band, in collaboration with the String Section of Ventspils Chamber Orchestra and the soloists Normunds Rutulis and Denisa Dārzniece, invites you to the Christmas concert "The Christmas Idyll". 

 

On 29 December, at 7:00 p.m., the Concert Hall "Latvija" invites you to the New Year's concert "A New Era" given by the women's choir of the Ventspils Culture Centre "Venda". This outstanding female voice performance will be complemented by the performances of special guests - the band "Sudden Lights". 

On 22 December, the Community House "Usma" offers the performance "The White Winter Silence" consisting of lyrical and musical stories.

On 23 December in Zūras - "Having Fun in the House of Dwarfs" - baking of gingerbread cookies, singing, dancing, and games beside the "Dwarf Workshop" in Zūras.
