The new ferry will henceforward run on this route together with Stena Scandica, replacing Stena Flavia, which, it its turn, will ensure carriage of passengers on the route Liepāja-Travemunde together with Stena Livia. 

By its structure, Stena Baltica is a sister-ferry of Stena Scandica, which ensures carriage of passengers between Ventspils and Nynashamn already since the summer of 2021: it is 222 metres long and has 202 cabins. The ferry can accommodate 970 passengers and it has 2,875 line metres for cargo units, as well as an additional deck for cars. The ferry has renovated interior, new categories of cabins, a spacious store with great offers for well-known branded goods, recreation areas and various catering opportunities, as well as an open deck.

Compared to ferries that have previously travelled on this route, Stena Scandica and Stena Baltica ensure by 30% higher cargo and by 70% higher passenger capacity, wider recreation opportunities and even more pleasant travelling experience on ferries both on our routes to Latvia, and from Latvia. Both new ferries serve as a great addition to Stena Line ferry fleet, and this is only the first step towards our ambitious plan to double the number of passengers in this Baltic Sea route within three years," states Johan Edelman, Stena Line Trade Director in the Baltic Sea Northern Region.

The new ferries are equipped with multiple sustainable functions and fuel consumption improvements, for example, hybrid treatment systems, ballast water treatment systems and other solutions in order to offer more sustainable transport on the Baltic Sea. Higher capacity also means lower emissions per one transported unit.
