Meteņi celebration in Ventspils
In the open-air territory of the museum, visitors will have a chance to compete in a sledding tournament, snowball making, bag throwing competition, mole chasing master classes and other interesting activities. Meteņi is the last day, when the traditional mummers or "budēļi" yet can arrive; therefore, members of Ventspils Culture Centre mixed choir "Kaiva" will turn into mummers to promote successful rest of the year.

There will also be a campfire set for visitors to get warm, take a breath between activities and cook treats taken with them. Nearby the campfire, the initiators of the storytellers festival "Ziv zup" - Ina Celitāne and Liesma Lagzdiņa - will bustle around and in a hospitable atmosphere, with songs, stories and customs, will reveal how to celebrate the traditions of our ancestors.

Entrance with the museum tickets.
