On 6 February, from 13.00 – 15.00 o'clock, cultural workers and their assistants will fry pancakes in rural territories of Ventspils municipality and will treat everyone who wishes to taste them.

The pancake frying idea was mentioned to her colleagues by the Head of Jūrkalne Folk House, who fries pancakes every year near the Folk House, thus awaiting the sunny weather and spring. Also other cultural workers liked this idea, so on 6 February outdoor pancake frying activities will take place in all rural territories and in Piltene town. It has to be noted that a different type of pancakes will be offered for tasting at each location. Someone will offer thin pancakes, someone else - filled pancakes, and elsewhere the smell of yeast or "hunger" pancakes will be in the air - there are many variants.
