Anniversary Street Sports and Cultural Event “Ghetto Games Festival” is to Take Place in Ventspils

As reported by the portal balticevents.info, the anniversary street sports and culture event Ghetto Games Festival is to take place in Ventspils from 22 to 24 July.
World-class athletes, amateurs, and other extreme sports enthusiasts will come together in Ventspils for the tenth time to participate in the largest alternative sports and street culture event in the Baltic States - the Ghetto Games Festival 2022.
Also this year, the Ghetto Food Festival is to take place, as the street food culture literally forms part of the diverse and multi-cultural street sports. During the festival, the visitors will be able to indulge in the largest and brightest world of flavours together with the most popular street food representatives in Latvia. The menu will feature a wide range of flavours starting from juicy, crunchy, and rich to light food, from hot straight from the tap to refreshing cold, thus offering excellent meals to those who are in no haste, those on the rush, and also families with children.

The highlights of the festival this year include the Ghetto Freestyle Rap Battle, the Ghetto Fight, and the Ghetto Slam Dunk Challenge.
Ghetto Fight is a mixed martial arts (MMA) league for semi-professionals/amateurs. The organization aims at developing and promoting young athletes, helping them becoming professionals. This year, the visitors will be able to see 15 fights. It has become a tradition that rap and freestyle artists take the stage in the centre of Ventspils to participate in the Ghetto Freestyle Rap Battle. Each year, the number of participants, both adults and very talented young people, increases.

If you happen to be in the area of the city skatepark, make sure you visit the Latvian Inline Cup, the Inline Ghetto Floorball all-star game, a round of Latvian Skateboard League, the extreme scooter competition, and Latvian BMX Cup.
