The Jazz Singer Daniel Caccia is to Perform in the Concert Hall “Latvija”

On 8 March, at 7:00 p.m., the jazz singer Daniel Caccia, accompanied by the musicians of the Ventspils Big Band, is to give a concert in the Concert Hall “Latvija”, performing the programme “Caccia Sings Sinatra”.
The concert will feature compositions by the world-famous American singer and actor Frank Sinatra. Their new arrangements will add a contemporary and "fresh" touch to these songs. Daniel Caccia, together with the Ventspils Big Band, will perform hits such as "I've got a Crush on You", "My Way", "Trav'lin' Light", "New York , New York", "It's All Right With Me", and others.
The Croatian-born Austrian singer Daniel Caccia earned a Master's degree from the prestigious Kunstuniversität Graz in Austria. In 2013, the magazine "DownBeat" chose the musician as the Best Singer of the Year. In 2014, he was awarded the Croatian Grammy in the category "Best Jazz Album". Daniel Caccia also acts as the soloist of the German National Jazz Orchestra. During his career, he has collaborated with many artists, including Kurt Eling, Sheila Jordan, Michael Abene, and others.

The line-up of the Ventspils Big Band consists of the students and teachers of Ventspils Music School. It is led by the saxophonist, producer, and music teacher Renārs Lācis. Over the past few years, the Big Band has performed together with many popular Latvian artists, such as the Maestro Raimonds Pauls, the composer Zigmars Liepiņš, the musicians Intars Busulis, Daumants Kalniņš, and Jānis Stībelis, as well as many others. Also, the Big Band has had the opportunity to perform together with world-renowned international artists. The Ventspils Big Band has been participating in the contemporary music festival Ventspils Groove for 15 years.
