Badge workshop for schoolchildren at the Craft House during the school holidays
The first badges were made in Great Britain in 1896 to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria's reign of 60 years (1837-1897). The name for collecting badges, orders and badges of honour - phaleristics - is related to the awards of Roman legionaries - phalera - worn over armour.

The workshop of the craft house offers to use the colouring pages of the artist Agnese Rudzīte (https://www.facebook.com/RYEfields) for the badge blanks, among which everyone will find a suitable one. Due to the arrival of Ukrainian children in Latvia and Ventspils, the artist has added slogans in Ukrainian to some of the colouring pages.

The workshop is available at the times indicated with a ticket; no prior reservation is required. Ventspils Museum.
