Live the Easter Joy in the Ventspils Museum

The Ventspils Museum invites you to enjoy the most beautiful spring celebration through a wide range of activities.
The largest event is to take place on 17 April, at 12:00 noon, at the Seaside Open-Air Museum (Riņķa iela 2), where everyone is welcome to celebrate the Easter according to our Easter traditions and to enjoy the festive atmosphere of the market, purchasing wonderful, colourful things from the merchants. You can, however, live the Easter joy, participating in special activities or taking a walk in the castle garden.
Already since the beginning of April, the Ventspils Museum awaits the pupils and also the youngest rabbits at all its sites - the Castle of the Livonian Order, the House of Crafts, the Seaside Open-Air Museum, and the Herberts Dorbe Memorial Museum to get them acquainted with Latvian Easter traditions and to invite them to participate in a wide range of workshops for crafting festive decorations, to hear Easter stories, and to choose other activities from the wide range of museum education activities (muzejs.ventspils.lv).

From 14 to 24 April, the Castle of the Livonian Order (Jāņa iela 17) invites you to the Easter stroll "In the Footsteps of the Castle Bunny" and to visit the expositions and exhibitions (New Acquisitions of the Museum for 2020-2021, Vasarnīcu-Street, Jānis Pauļuks, Centaur - Episode Two) which will bring joy to everyone. Whether young or old, bold or coy, the stroll will bring you double joy! Entrance with the Museum tickets.
On Sunday, 17 April, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m., the Seaside Open-Air Museum of Ventspils (Riņķa iela 2) awaits its visitors and all those willing to enjoy real Easter mood to visit the Fishermen's Farm and Livonian Farm or the meadow near the windmill, where everyone is welcome to decorate the Easter eggs, to visit the Easter market, and to observe rabbits and horses. The folk-dance ensemble "Liedags" will create a special festive atmosphere. The Easter concert will be opened by the well-known vocal-instrumental ensemble "Windy Temper", whereas one of the long-time representatives of country music in Latvia - the band "Klaidonis" - will create special festive atmosphere all day long. If you wish to visit the Ventspils Museum during the festivities, please take into account its opening times from 14 to 18 April: The exposition in the Castle of the Livonian Order (Jāņa iela 17) will be open to visitors on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (from 14 to 17 April), from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Monday (18 April), it remains closed.
The House of Crafts (Skolas iela 3) will be open on Thursday (14 April), from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on Saturday (16 April), from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Friday, Sunday, and Monday (from 17 to 18 April), it remains closed.
The H. Dorbe Memorial Museum (Ērgļu iela 1) will be open only on Thursday (14 April), from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. From Friday to Monday, the museum remains closed.
The Seaside Open-Air Museum (Riņķa iela 2) will be open only for the Easter, i.e., on Sunday, 17 April, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Otherwise, it remains closed until the season opening on 1 May.
