On Wednesday, 4 May, at 3:00 p.m., the Concert Hall ‘Latvija’ invites everyone to the concert in celebration of the Day of the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia.

Jānis Vītoliņš, the Chairman of Ventspils City Council, will give a speech, whereas the Riga Cathedral Boys Choir will give a musical performance, conducted by Mārtiņš Klišāns (concert master: Artūrs Mitrēvics).

The concert will feature Latvian folk songs and compositions by various composers, such as E. Dārziņš, M. Brauns, R. Tiguls, S. Rachmaninoff, U. Sisask, and F. Schubert.The Riga Cathedral Boys Choir was first established in 1950. It gives concerts on a regular basis, not only in the most prominent concert halls and churches in Latvia, but also many other countries, such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Norway, America, Canada, and Japan. The Riga Cathedral Boys Choir is one of the most active choirs in Latvia, which received the Great Music Award - the most prominent music award of our country. A total of 22 solo albums by the Riga Cathedral Boys Choir have been released so far. Since 1998, Mārtiņš Klišāns is the choral conductor and artistic director of the choir.
