The organist Anna Homenya to perform in Ventspils
02.06.2022 - 14:12
On 12 June, the Concert Hall “Latvija” will welcome the organist Anna Homenya with her solo concert “Le Salon à Paris”.

The musician, who was born in Belarus, Mogilev, calls Paris her home now. The day after her very first performance in Latvia as a musician together with other soloists-instrumentalists and the State Chamber Orchestra "Sinfonietta Rīga", performing the concert for five soloists "Four Angles" by Krists Auznieks in Ventspils, she will also appear publicly for the first time with a solo concert. The programme was named "Le Salon à Paris" due to the fact that she will mainly perform compositions by French composers. The organist has chosen to perform compositions for organ by Jean Philippe Rameau, Gabriel Fauré, Louis-James Alfred Lefébure-Wély, and Louis Vierne. In addition, she will perform some fantasias and chorales by Johann Sebastian Bach.
In 2005, Anna Homenya started studying piano music and musicology at the Minsk State College of Music, continuing her studies at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory and graduating in 2010 with a Master's degree after presenting a research work of a symphony by Anton Bruckner. In St. Petersburg, Anna acquired her organ playing skills under the professors Tatiana Tchausova and Daniel Zaretsky and mastered the harpsichord playing skills under the professor Elena Seredinskaya. The young organist graduated with honours in 2013 and soon moved to Paris, where she continued mastering her skills under the most outstanding professors and masters of organ playing.
In the capital of France, where the musician has been residing for several years now, Anna Homenya teaches organ and piano playing, as well as music theory at the École Russe des Arts. She has been actively giving concerts not only in France, but also in Germany and the native Belarus. From time to time, the artist also provides support to singers, vocal ensemnles, and choirs and is a member of several co-founded ensembles, such as the baroque and early music ensemble "Quadrivium", the harpsichord duo "Le spectacle des mains" together with Tatsiana Khaleva, and an organ duo together with Camille Déruelle. Before the pandemic, the respectable label Naxos released a record with music by Boris Tishchenko, which was recorded with participation by Anna Homenya.
The tickets to the organ afternoon "Le Salon à Paris" by Anna Homenya, which is to take place on 12 June in Ventspils, are available at all sales points of "Biļešu Paradīze".
Anna Homenya performs at the festival "Komm, Bach!" in 2020.
