29.07.2022 - 11:31
A month has passed since the long-awaited Science Centre VIZIUM opened its doors to its first visitors. During this time, we have gained the assurance that VIZIUM has become one of the most popular summer holiday destinations and identified exhibits that are most in demand. Therefore, the VIZIUM team is proud to share the most popular exhibits you should definitely try out when visiting VIZIUM.

When entering the exhibition hall, the largest crowd of visitors can be observed in the Healthy Lifestyle Gallery and the simulation zone. The VR roller coaster simulator, which is their absolute favourite, allows one to get an adrenaline rush and to enjoy a thrilling ride. It takes only a VR headset and a moving platform to enjoy a real roller coaster experience, including free falls and sharp turns.
Creative minds can express themselves and create art, drawing in a VR environment. When putting on the VR headset, visitors are whisked away to another world - a completely empty virtual space that serves as a clear canvas for their works of art. Using the controllers, visitors can let their imagination run wild and use a variety of colours and brushes to create anything that's on their mind.
The project is implemented within the framework of the project "Establishment of an Innovation Centre in Ventspils" as part of the activity "Innovation Centres" under the programme "Research and Education" of the EEA and Norway Grants 2014 - 2021

The laser maze in the VIZIUM technology gallery is always received with considerable curiosity and interest on the part of the visitors, allowing them to put themselves in the shoes of James Bond and to test their reflexes and flexibility while dodging lasers. The laser maze has multiple difficulties, this way anyone can enjoy it.
Latvians are very lucky with their geographical location in the sense that earthquakes are highly unlikely to occur in Latvia and even if they do, they are so weak that they cannot even be felt. VIZIUM offers the opportunity to experience an earthquake in a safe and interactive environment - starting from the lightest vibrations to the strongest ones. The earthquake simulator looks like a table in a cafe with a table lamp and dishes. While it is active, these objects perfectly show the magnitude of vibration levels.

Kids have shown great interest in the car simulator the task of which consists in showing how the reaction time changes when driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances, at the same time reminding them how dangerous it is. The experience includes two rides - the first one without any impediments, and the second one - in poor visibility and vehicle controllability conditions.
VIZIUM is a great place to spend your holidays with friends or family. However, keep in mind that some exhibits like the VR roller coaster simulator can only be used by adults and children over the age of 10.
