On 13 August, the celebration of Maurice Festival is to take place in Usma

On 13 August, the Maurice Festival “In search of Maurice’s Treasure...” is to take place in Usma, Ventspils Municipality. The residents of Usma welcome everyone to relax in this beautiful area, enjoying activities for both adults and children.

The morning of the festival will start at 6:30 a.m. with the fishing competition "Maurice's Catch" that will last until 11:30 a.m. but at 10:00 a.m., everyone is welcome to the "Maurice's Cup" in volleyball (2+1), streetball (2+1), football (4+1), and relay (4+1). At 1:00 p.m., everyone is welcome to the Usma central beach to the opening concert, presentation and hoisting of the Maurice's flag, and celebration of the most supportive neighbors. Exhibition "Dream of Moricsala" by Harina Kreislere will be on display in the Community Centre all day long.
At 2:00 p.m., it will be the time for testing strength and agility, participating in a wide range of activities such as hitting the cans, swinging the boot, opening the treasure chest, lifting the balls, shooting the target, and catching goldfish. Children will be able to enjoy the free interactive experience "Angry Birds", inflatable attractions, and water balls, to use SUP boards, to go horseback riding with the club "Potenciāls" (subject to charge), to taste Maurice fish soup, to ride a boat, as well as to visit the Maurice's Market, and to enjoy a presentation where the officials of the State Fire and Rescue Service and the State Guard will demonstrate their equipment.
At 4:00 p.m., in the Community Centre "Usma", the Independent Youth Theatre "Es un Mēs" will play a comedy in two acts "The Marriage of Munchausen" based on the play by Mārtiņs Zīverts. Director - Mikus Krastiņš.
At 6:00 p.m., the evening concert with Māris Blāzis and Artis Šimpermanis, at 7:30 p.m. - the competition award ceremony, but at 9:00 p.m. - a disco with DJ Janism will take place. At midnight, Count Maurice will give his farewell speech followed by fireworks, but at 00:15 a.m. the disco will continue.Until 9:00 p.m., the entrance is for free of charge. Afterwards the tickets for adults will cost EUR 5.00, but for children over the age of 12 - EUR 3.00.
