Location of firework show of Ventspils Festival will be changed

As planned initially, the closing concert of the most active day of Ventspils City Festival – 6 August – will take place at Ostas Street Promenade next to Vecais Spīķeris.
However, this year, the organizers have encountered an unprecedented situation, where the most spectacular and attended event - the festival fireworks - and its location must be adapted to construction works at the port. This year, the placement of the pyrotechnics for the fireworks will be moved next to the Ferry Terminal and customs zone (see in the map)
On Saturday, at 8:00 p.m., on a stage at Ostas Street Promenade, the popular band in Ventspils "Latvian Blues Band" is set to perform, followed by the popular Latvian singer Dons with one of his rare performances this summer. Shortly before the fireworks, the Mayor of Ventspils Jānis Vītoliņš will give a speech that will be displayed on monitors at the stage and behind it.

At 11:00 p.m., the fireworks expert Kalvis Kalviņš will do a 1-minute long introduction, launching a few control shots, so that everyone can without hurry make sure of visibility of the fireworks and find the best place to watch the show from. The introduction will be followed by a grandiose 4-minute long fireworks show that as always promises to be the greatest in Latvia, will begin.
