You are kindly invited to Piltene to celebrate the first Ventspils Municipality festival “Looking Back Over the Years”, which is to take place on 3 September. From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., together with the members of amateur collectives, everyone will be able to discover the culture and gastronomy of the Ventspils Municipality developed over the years. At 5:00 p.m., the amateur collectives will take the open-air stage to give a concert.

The festival will be held at five places. At the Piltene castle ruins, you will be able to visit the "Ancient Sanatorium" where the air will be filled with amber dust and campfire smoke. Within the area arranged in the central park entitled "Time for Both Singing and Working", the visitors will have the opportunity to make items, using black clay, and to learn how to make carrot cakes ('sklandrauši'), while children will have their share of fun in a creative workshop. The folklore ensemble "Urdava" and the ethnographic ensemble "Maģie suiti" will perform. Located in the Piltene centre beside the administrative building, the tavern "A Guest of the Wealthy Madam" decorated in an elegant style, will offer coffee, cakes, and live music - all in elegant style, of course. Near the former collective farm office building, the visitors will be given the opportunity to enjoy a former collective farm experience about "How great it was there where both of us were" with typical food of that time, i.e., cabbage and roasted chops of meat, as well as fruit and vegetable markets while listening to the hits of the 60's and 70's. "Vilbrūži", on the other hand, will host a yard party for younger people, offering treats provided by "Osko" and creating a real disco atmosphere.
