Anniversary concert by the band “Otra Puse” in Ventspils

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the band “Otra Puse”, which will be celebrated with several concerts across Latvia. The band will give a concert in Ventspils on 26 November, at 7:00 PM, in the Theatre House “Jūras vārti”.
The concert will feature its most iconic songs during its thirty years of activity, including hits such as "Vēstules", "Ieskaties", "Nakts vai Rīts", "Savādā", "Pēc lietus", etc.
The special guests include the founders of the band "Otra Puse" and musicians of the band "Jumprava" - Aigars Grāvers and Aigars Krēsla, as well as the owner of beautiful voice and singer Antra Stafecka, with whom the band has been collaborating during these years to create duets such as "Uzzīmē mani", "Kopā", "Es Tev", "Tavās rokās" composed by Antra herself, and the all-time favourite hit "Man dimantu nav" by the band "100. debija".

The beginnings of the band date back to August 1992, as Aigars Grāvers and Aigars Krēsla invited two new musicians - then member of the band "Vaidava" Ivars Makstnieks (keyboard) and the so far unknown singer Normunds Pauniņš - and created a new project to be later called "Otra Puse". They first came together at the record studio "4-tā", where the first singles "Pēc lietus" and "Balāde par 3 saucieniem" were created. Both songs became radio hits shortly after their release, while the song "Pēc lietus" ranked second in the annual song contest "Mikrofona aptauja" in 1992. In autumn of the same year, the band went to their first concert tour in Latvia.
The most noteworthy achievements of the band are definitely two Annual Latvian Music Recording Awards "Golden Microphone" for the best pop music album "Nakts vai Rīts" (2009) and "Uzzīmē mani" (2013), accordingly. The well-known song "Ave Pali" sung as a duo with Aija Andrejeva ranked first in the contest "Musical Bank" in 2011. The song "Es Tev" sung as a duo with Antra Stafecka in 2016, on the other hand, landed among the most valuable songs of the Musical Bank.
