From March 26 to May 10, 2025, a seminar series for Ventspils guides will take place. It is a great opportunity for both experienced and new guides to expand their knowledge, improve their skills, and gain valuable experience in guiding.

The seminar is an educational event organized with the aim of enhancing the professional skills of guides and promoting the development of high-quality tourism services in the city. The seminar provides both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, offering guides the opportunity to improve their qualifications and adapt to the requirements of the modern tourism industry. The series includes 20 seminars on various topics, as well as 12 informative excursions.

During the seminar, participants will have the chance to learn about Ventspils city's infrastructure and tourism development plans, historical heritage and architectural details, professional standards for guides, as well as various practical methods that will improve the quality of tour guiding. There will also be discussions on the latest trends, including the use of artificial intelligence for content creation for social media and interactive solutions in guiding. The seminars will primarily take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings, with practical city tours and visits to tourist sites scheduled on Saturdays. Additionally, interested participants will have the opportunity to join excursions to industrial sites. The seminars will be led by experienced instructors and industry specialists who will share their knowledge and professional experience. This seminar series is organized by the Ventspils Tourism Information Centre once every four years. Guides participating in the seminar for the first time will need to complete a final exam - a guided tour. Upon successful completion of the exam, new guide certificates will be issued, valid until May 31, 2029. Registration for seminar participation is open until March 24.
