Let's celebrate the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia in Ventspils!

We invite you to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Restoration of the Independence of the Republic of Latvia in Ventspils with a festive program: the city will host a variety of cultural and entertainment events and activities for both families with children and adults.
Let's celebrate the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia in Ventspils!
In honor of the Restoration of the Independence of the Republic of Latvia, festive decorations will be installed in Ventspils at the beginning of next week. Among them: a four-meter-long table centerpiece with the text of the Latvian Constitution in the Town Hall Square, a "Freedom" decoration in the Great Square, a stand with ten Latvian flags by the "Umbrella" fountain in Newspaper Alley, and a group of traditional "Puzuri" decorations in the Pārventa center to create a festive atmosphere. Latvian national flags will be displayed along Ventspils' main streets and gathering places.

To make the holiday time enjoyable for all ages, starting from May 1, all city fountains will be turned on. The Adventure Park will be open daily with all attractions available, the boat Hercogs Jēkabs will welcome guests on board from Wednesday to Sunday, and the narrow-gauge train Mazbānītis will operate from Thursday to Sunday. The Water Adventure Park will be open daily until May 11 (afterwards, from Wednesday to Sunday), offering fun for the whole family. To help plan visits and participate in holiday activities, a schedule of working hours for Ventspils' tourist attractions during the national holiday and pre-holiday days has been compiled and is available here. 
From April 29 to May 4, visitors at the Science Centre VIZIUM foyer will have the opportunity to write their wishes for Latvia, sharing their feelings and greetings to create a festive atmosphere.
On Sunday, May 4, at 12:00 PM, the program "Our Home. Our Story." will take place at the Town Hall Square, reviving the spirit of an old Latvian homestead. The Tālbergi family, folk dance groups "Strautuguns" and "Liedags", as well as the post-folk group "RIKŠI", will perform, inviting visitors to join lively Latvian dances. 
Following the event at Town Hall Square, at 4:00 PM, a festive concert will take place at the "Latvija" Concert Hall, featuring performances by Rihards Mačanovskis (bass-baritone), Marta Spārniņa (violin), Guntars Freibergs (percussion), and Aigars Reinis (organ). They will perform works by Latvian composers Pēteris Vasks, Rihards Dubra, and others. Free admission tickets can be obtained at the "Latvija" Concert Hall box office. On
Sunday, May 4, at 11:00 AM at the Ventspils Children's Town and at 3:00 PM at the Children's Park "Fantāzija", families with children are invited to enjoy the puppet theater performance "A Fairy Tale About Latvia", along with an entertaining program hosted by Ēriks Balodis. 
To spend May 4 in a lively and exciting atmosphere, starting from 12:00 PM at the Olympic Centre "Ventspils" Basketball Hall, the Mistery Bubbles bubble tricks show will take place. Visitors will enjoy a bubble illusionist show, a laser show, a neon room, smoke effects, and interactive activities for children. World-class bubble tricks will be performed by illusionist Roberts Valdmanis, admired by audiences around the world. 
In the evening, starting from 6:00 PM at the same venue, visitors can enjoy a brand-new comedy show The Late Night Show - UP CLOSE WITH HUMOR, featuring Latvia's best comedians. This entertaining event promises lots of laughter and a chance to meet the stars of the show and enjoy truly hilarious performances.
