On May 1st, celebrating Labour Day and the day of the convocation of the Latvian Republic's Constitutional Assembly, the Ventspils Freeport Authority's excursion boat "Hercogs Jēkabs" will begin its new – thirtieth – season.

The boat will be waiting for guests at its usual pier No. 18, at the intersection of Tirgus and Ostas streets.

During the 45-minute boat trip, passengers will have the opportunity to see Ventspils from a different perspective, admire various views of the port and the city, from the Bypass Bridge all the way to the sea gates. Tickets for the trip can be purchased at the ticket office next to the pier. Children up to 10 years old can only be on the boat when accompanied by an adult. Please note that the schedule may be changed, and trips may be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances or poor visibility. "Hercogs Jēkabs" is one of the most well-known tourist and leisure attractions in Ventspils. Originally purchased to provide transportation between the two banks of the Venta River, the boat now offers city and port tours from the Venta side for the citizens and visitors of Ventspils, marking its thirtieth year in service.
