On May 17, the entire Ventspils Museum will take part in the events of International Museum Night, which is being held in Latvia for the 21st time this year. The unifying theme of Museum Night – Stories of Our Values – has been chosen to encourage museums and other public institutions to share the most significant treasures from their collections and tell their stories to the public.

• Herberts Dorbe Museum (Ērgļu Street 1) will be open from 19:00-22:00 with May Evening Stories, where poet Maija Laukmane will share three important stories about life, poetry, and love. Maija Laukmane is the author of several collections of poetry and prose for both adults and children and has also worked in journalism. She is known for collecting and systematizing folklore from the Kurzeme region.
• Craft House (Skolas Street 3) will invite visitors from 20:00-23:00 to play the game "A Place for Everything". From 21:00-23:00, the youth improvisation group "Skābeklis" will perform a two-act show "What's in the Dark? Ghost Stories."
• Seaside Open-Air Museum (Riņķa Street 2) will be open from 19:00-22:00 and will guide visitors along the Museum Story Trail, where they can learn and solve tasks related to the Boat House, the Depot, and the Narrow-Gauge Train Station. From 20:00-00:00, enjoy night rides on the narrow-gauge train and nighttime music.
  Note: Train rides have an additional fee.
• Livonian Order Castle (Jāņa Street 17) will focus on stories of people and discovery. From 19:00-22:00, visitors can "Seek the Great Minds" within the castle's exhibitions. After 22:00, in the castle courtyard, under the cover of darkness (U. Pliens), the Performance Center will present two movement performances titled Short Circuit with live jazz improvisation by Dzeja Trio and R. Lācis. Throughout the night, visitors can play medieval games, warm their hearts and hands with hot tea by a live fire, and enjoy treats from the Castle Tavern.
