From June 1 to August 31, Ventspils Museum offers a special summer program – a variety of cultural and educational activities for families with children, individual travelers, and, of course, the residents of Ventspils themselves. History, music, crafts, and art – Ventspils Museum inspires!

Special summer events every week at the Livonian Order Castle

Enjoy guided exhibition tours, the sounds of historical musical instruments in short concerts, and authentic flavors based on ancient recipes. A visit to the castle is a chance to step into another era. June 1 - August 31 / Livonian Order Castle / Jāņa iela 17

  Guided walk through current art exhibitions with a museum specialist.

• Musica hortus / Garden Concert

  A barrel organ player under the chestnut trees in the castle courtyard. Listen and try turning the music box yourself.

  Mini concerts featuring a historical pianola (1927) or polyphon (19th century).
• Aqua vitae / Water of Life

  Taste a strength-giving infusion prepared according to medieval recipes and take home an ancient recipe.

At the Seaside Open-Air Museum, enjoy a ride on the narrow-gauge train and explore the museum exhibitions

Step into the 1970s at the H. Dorbe Museum
Before digital projectors, families used slide projectors to view their travel memories on light-colored walls or hanging sheets.
