From July 31 to August 3, the city of Ventspils will celebrate its 700+35th anniversary! For four festive days, the city will come alive with a rich program of events. Locals and visitors will enjoy vibrant concerts, exhibitions, art performances, a festive parade, a glowing street art open-air gallery, Book Festival, sports activities, and the grand finale – fireworks at Ostas Street Promenade.

Celebrating a festival is unimaginable without decorating the celebration spaces with fitting decorations that signal the approach of the festivities and create the right atmosphere. This year, Ventspils is once again beautifully adorned and prepared for the celebration, so that residents and visitors can welcome Ventspils' birthday festivities with joy, pride, and a lifted spirit.

This year's festival motto - "Peace unites, the city inspires!" - reminds us of the harmony and sense of togetherness our city provides, inspiring both creative work and heartfelt gatherings. Festive decorations will be set up in several popular gathering places for locals and visitors. Lielais Square will be decorated with festive elements and is recognized not only for its unique fountain "Fregate 'Valzivs'" and the concert hall "Latvija", but also for its designer flowerbeds, which surprise everyone with their variety of colors and shapes. In the square, the number 735 will be displayed to mark the city's anniversary, accompanied by colorful spheres featuring quotes from Ventspils residents about their city, as well as a flag stand with Ventspils city flags. This will surely be a perfect spot for capturing beautiful photo moments in memory of the vibrant celebration!
