Ukrainian Culture Days in Ventspils – from August 15 to 17

From August 15 to 17, Ventspils will host Ukrainian Culture Days, providing Ventspils residents and city guests with an opportunity to get to know the rich Ukrainian cultural and artistic heritage. The aim of the events is to preserve and popularize Ukrainian cultural traditions, integrate the Ukrainian community into Latvian society, and show support for the Ukrainian people.

At the "Selga" nursing home, a prelude concert for the Ukrainian Culture Days will take place. The program will feature the ensemble Mrija (led by Yelena Novikova), bandura player Sofiya Bezsmertna, and singers Tetiana Kolii and Oksana Lucenko.
Saturday, August 16 at 13:00
The Ventspils Culture Centre will host the festive opening concert "Message of Peace". Performers include the ensemble Mrija, singers A. Bylya, T. Kolii, O. Lucenko, guest artists from Latvia, and singers from Ukraine.

At 11:00, in the Children's Town - a musical performance for children "Lāčplēsis". Featuring the children's ensemble Dzhereltse (Jelgava) and bandura player Sofiya Bezsmertna.
At 15:00, in the "Fantasy" children's park - the Ukrainian Culture Days closing concert "Message of Peace". Featuring the ensemble Mrija, singers A. Bylya, T. Kolii, O. Lucenko, guest artists from other Latvian cities and from Ukraine. During the event, the "Ukrainian Yard" will be open, offering creative workshops for children, an exhibition of paintings by Ukrainian artists, tasting of Ukrainian national dishes, and a handicrafts fair.

The Ukrainian Culture Days are organized by the Ventspils Ukrainian Cultural Association "KOBZAR", with the support of the Ventspils City Council and the Ventspils Culture Centre.
