900 dogs from six countries will be gathered at the dog expo in Ventspils
03.09.2025 - 13:16
On September 6 and 7, the national dog expositions for all breeds, organized by the traditional Ventspils Animal Breeders Association, will take place in Ventspils, in the square next to the Beach Water Park (Loču iela 30). The event will bring together around 900 dogs from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden and Poland. This year, 84 dogs from Ventspils, representing 38 breeds, will also compete for the title of the most beautiful representative of their breed.

The event is organized by Ventspils Animal Breeders' Association, which celebrated its 39th birthday this year. The association has 150 members who own approximately 400 dogs, representing 75 breeds.
On September 6, the exhibition "COURLAND WINNER 2025" will take place, and on September 7, the "VENTSPILS CUP 2025" will be showcased as well.
The show will be evaluated by an international panel of FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale) experts from Italy, Finland, Sweden, and Latvia. Dog breed expertise will take place simultaneously in 6 rings and each breed will have its own exhibition time.
A nice surprise has been prepared not only for the exhibition's little visitors, but also for active, sporty and adventurous spectators: on Saturday, September 6 at 12:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 7 at 12:00 p.m., there will be an opportunity to experience real speed in agility demonstrations on the obstacle course.
During the exhibition, visitors will not only be able to see the dogs, but also talk to dog owners about the characteristics of the breeds, their suitability for families, needs, care, and activity level. There will also be an opportunity to learn about sporty and active leisure opportunities with your family pet and meet club members, as well as learn about the association's goals, directions, opportunities, and beliefs.
This year, a wide assortment of everyday and luxury dog accessories, care and professional grooming products (shampoos, balms, conditioners, scissors, hair dryers), souvenirs, treats and food will be available. Electronic tick repellent devices will also be available with collars. The exhibition's general sponsor, FORZA 10, will offer pet vitamins, nutritional supplements, and premium pet food.
