During the autumn break from October 20 to 26, students and families are invited to actively participate in activities in Ventspils! During this time, the city of Ventspils offers a variety of opportunities for both children and young people who want to spend their break in an exciting way.

The VIZIUM Science Center invites children and young people to participate in IT and science workshops, shows, and creative activities with prior registration:

IT School "Discover Yourself in the World" - October 21-23, for children aged 6 years up to 4th grade - experiments with colors, magnets, and carbon dioxide, LEGO workshops, story and video creation in Minecraft and Roblox Studio, exploring the human body, and healthy lifestyle lessons. -Science Shows "Before the Ashes" and "Journey Through Science" - October 23-24, at 12:00 and 14:00, and on Saturday also at 16:00.
October 25-26 at 12:00, 14:00, and 16:00 - "Before the Ashes." 

-Creative Workshop "World of Senses" - October 25-26 at 13:00.

The House of Creativity offers various creative and technical workshops:
  • October 21: "Earth" workshop with the film Our Dangerous Planet and observatory visit (3rd-5th grade).
  • October 22: Radio electronics (12:00), "Good Taste Laboratory" (11:50), and beading (12:00).
  • October 23: Creative art workshop (11:00) and sewing workshop (12:00).
Ventspils Youth House organizes free events for young people aged 13 and up:
  • Tuesday, October 21, 18:00 - Jumanji game night. Young people can meet and play a new game created by the international volunteer Maria from Spain.
  • Wednesday, October 22, 17:00 - International Culture Evening at Gāliņciems Library (meet volunteers from Spain, Ukraine, Turkey, and Morocco while tasting their traditional dishes).
  • Thursday, October 23, 18:00 - Exercise session with Marina (bring sports mats and sportswear).
  • Friday, October 24, 18:00 - BINGO evening.
Ventspils libraries offer creative workshops for both younger and older children:
  • Children's Library: every weekday at 12:00 - finger crafts and fun games; Thursday - ZOOM Storytime morning for the youngest children.
  • Gāliņciems Library: every weekday at 14:00 - autumn break creative workshops (prior registration by phone: 22030982 or 63624485).
  • Pārventa Library: every weekday at 13:00 - board games, bracelet making, crosswords, and reading.
  • Music Library: October 25, 13:00 - "Music Class for Children" (ages 3-6), theme: "Dance with Vivaldi."
Ventspils Museum offers visits to its permanent collections:
  • Livonian Order Castle
  • Seaside Open-Air Museum
  • Crafts House
  • H. Dorbe Museum "Dust of Ancestors"
Additionally, until October 31, you can enjoy an exciting ride on the 100-year-old steam locomotive "Mazbānītis," which from October 23 to 26, 11:00-17:00, offers the promotion "Come with a Friend! Two ride, pay for one!" 

Olympic Center "Ventspils" offers water adventures and accommodations:
  • From October 20 to 26, the Water Adventure Park offers attractions and SPA at off-season prices.
Until November 30, 2025, the Olympic Center "Ventspils" hotel and Water Adventure & SPA complex has special prices:

RIO Cinema offers movies and cartoons on the big screen (showtimes available). 

Nature and Walks: Ventspils and its surroundings offer many spots for walks and relaxation during autumn - Reņķa Garden, Seaside Park, and Bušnieki Lake Nature Trail, as well as the playful Children's Town, where kids can run and play outdoors. The Southern Pier promenade lets you feel the sea breeze and enjoy the forces of nature up close. Meanwhile, the Ostas Street promenade delights with views of the Venta River, the sea gates, old harbor workshops, a buoy collection, the pilot ship "Rota," and the impressive environmental sculpture screw "Human Power."
