On November 29, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the streets and squares of Ventspils will be filled with the spirit of Christmas anticipation – the city’s Christmas trees will be lit, along with the interactive holiday adventure “Dwarfs’ Light Walk.” This year, the opening of the festive season will be special – three Christmas tree lighting events will come together in one shared story of a glowing pathway, inviting both children and adults to take part.

At 5:00 PM, an interactive performance "The Grinch's Grand Plan" will take place at Lielais Laukums (the Main Square). In the show, the Grinch will try to dim the Christmas lights, but children's joy, songs, and warm hearts will turn his wicked idea into kindness. The stage will feature the traveling circus "Beztemata," singers Roberts Bahmanis, Estere Lakija Jansone and Sofija Puzirevska, as well as Santa Clauses of Ventspils.

After the performance, with the help of Ventspils City Council Chairman Jānis Vītoliņš, the city's main Christmas tree will be lit. The evening will continue from 5:20 PM to 7:00 PM with a lively winter disco hosted by DJ-elf J-One at Lielais Laukums. Following the tree lighting ceremony, guests will join Santa Clauses, children, and performers for a festive walk to Rātslaukums (City Hall Square). From 5:40 PM, the bell ensemble "Campanella" will delight visitors with a heartfelt concert, and at the "Words of Kindness Wall," everyone will be invited to write or share kind wishes for the city and its people. The event will be hosted by Sabīne Holštroma.
