On the third day of Advent, December 14, at 1:00 p.m., Polish musician Jan Bartolomej Bokščanin invites you to Sunday organ music at the “Latvija” concert hall, offering light music for the time of waiting.

Polish organist and teacher Jan Bartolomej Bokščanin has given many concerts not only in Poland, but also in other European countries, the USA and Asia, performing in prestigious concert venues and churches, and playing for the first time on the magnificent organ built by Orgelbau Klais (Germany) in the concert hall "Latvija". Many composers have written works specifically for Bokščanin, and he has also participated in the recording of several dozen CDs of organ music for well-known music record companies.
The Polish organist is a professor at the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music (Poland), as in addition to active concert performance, the upbringing of young musicians also takes up a lot of time. "I have not yet learned to give up concerts, although apart from them and my studies, I have many other obligations and plans. Of course, I would like to spend a couple of weeks without rushing to simply practice and prepare for the next concerts, but the life of a musician is not limited to sitting down at the instrument and playing, which is one of the simplest tasks," says Bokščanin about the musician's mission.

Jans Bartolomejs Bokščanin will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Polish composers at the "Latvija" concert hall, while Pawel Lukaszewski's composition "Pontifex" will have its world premiere in Ventspils. The long experience of the well-known organist has shaped a special approach to composing his concert programs: "Maybe it sounds a bit paradoxical, but we must remember that we do not play for musicians, we play for people who like this music, but who often do not have much experience in it. Therefore, the program must be relatively universal, and so far such an approach has never disappointed. Sometimes I allow myself some deviations to test whether people are ready to accept something different."
Tickets for the concert of Jans Bartolomejs Bokščanins at the concert hall "Latvija" can be purchased at all "Bilešu paradīze" sales points and online at bilesuparadize.lv.
The concert is organized by SIA "Kurzemes filharmonija" with the support of the Ventspils City Municipality and the State Cultural Capital Foundation.Photography and video filming are possible during the events - the obtained materials will be used for publicity purposes of the event, on the website and social media accounts of the concert hall "Latvija".
