A grand ''LuckyBet Drag Race Festival'' will take place at Ventspils Airport

More than a thousand horsepower will roar in Ventspils - as part of the "LuckyBet Drag Racing Festival", Normunds Lācis will arrive with the legendary Mitsubishi Evo 9. From July 31 to August 2, one of the loudest and most powerful drag racing events of this summer will take place at Ventspils Airport, as part of the city festival - the LuckyBet Drag Racing Festival!
The festival participants will be joined by one of Latvia's most famous drag racers - Normunds Lācis, who will arrive with his legendary Mitsubishi Evo 9. This car has become a symbol of speed, power and fighting spirit in European drag racing for years, its start always attracts the attention of spectators. After long car modifications, the team will arrive from Germany so that pilot Normunds Lācis can defend the name of Latvia in this discipline.

LuckyBet Drag Racing Festival'' will be a place where the fastest cars, the strongest teams and a real competitive atmosphere will meet. For three days, spectators will be treated to high-level drag racing competitions, the roar of powerful engines and emotions that can only be experienced in person. A special event - ''LuckyBet Air Show'', which will take place on 01.08.2026! For the first time at Ventspils Airport, air will combine with cars - various acrobatic performances, a stunt show, during which a motorcycle will jump 22 m above an airplane.
''Thanks to the support of the Ventspils Municipality, this year we have specially thought out the structure of the event - it will be interesting for both adults and children throughout the day! Drag racing, the most powerful drag racing cars from Europe, car exhibitions, entertainment stands from cooperation partners, a special area for children's entertainment, and of course the most important thing - an air show'' - comments competition organizer Jolanta Lāce.
The participation of international participants in the festival is a clear confirmation that the European drag racing elite will gather in Ventspils. It will be an opportunity for every motorsports fan to meet the athletes, see unique racing equipment and watch the battle for hundredths of a second on the track.
