Extensive cultural and entertainment program at Ventspils City Festival!

From July 31 to August 2, Ventspils will become the capital of celebrations, inviting residents and guests to enjoy the city's 736th anniversary celebrations. This year, the holiday motto "Sunny Days" will permeate the program, where everyone will find their own sun story. Starting with concerts, exhibitions and creative activities to exciting sports competitions, craft fairs and family recreation opportunities.

The festive program will begin already Friday, July 31, with a traditional holiday fair in the Old Town Market Square, Street Food Show festival, the opening of several art exhibitions and other events in various places in the city. The central event of the evening will be the official opening of the festivities in the amphitheater of the concert hall "Latvija", where Ventspils residents who have made a significant contribution to the city through their work will be honored.

A special atmosphere will be created on Friday evening by the emotional concert "Sunset. Twilight. Night." taking place in the Reņka Garden oasis, where guitarist Reinis Jaunais, musicians Flamenco Thief from Great Britain, Make A Tree from Ukraine and other artists. You will also be able to watch the creation of works for the 23rd International Flower Carpet Festival "Flowers of the Sun".
Saturday, August 1 The morning will begin with the traditional Festival Procession, which will take place along Lielos Prospekt from 11:00. Throughout the day, visitors will be delighted by a diverse program throughout the city - the Book Festival in Rātslaukums, medieval life and singing in the Livonian Order Castle, a terrace festival in the VIZIUM science center and a free sound ensemble in Dzirnavu square.
Reņķa Garden will be the heart of the celebration, where floral art, design, music and leisurely relaxation will come together in one place. As part of the Flower Carpet Festival, visitors will be delighted by 22 works of floristic art created during the day, which this year are designed in a vertical form, symbolically reaching towards the sun. The Baltic Design Market will be open all day long. A special festive area with non-alcoholic cocktails, meditation sessions and brain balance activities will be available for mental relaxation. Music for gourmets will be played in the park oasis with a special guest - singer ATVARA.
Sporting excitement will be found in the city's Great Square, where a 3×3 basketball tournament and a Strongman competition will take place on the adjacent Pāvila Street, while speed lovers will be invited to the Drag Race Festival at Ventspils Airport.On the Ostas Street promenade, during the long walk, you can enjoy the artisan market, the large carousel park, the offer of old food carts and the culinary program "Kūka manai pilēdai". Ventspils musicians and bands will perform on stage in the daytime program. The evening's musical events will be continued by the group "Riga Reggae", which will dress the songs of Maestro Raimonds Pauls in sunny reggae rhythms. But a good charge of energy will be provided by the attractive group "Citi zēni". At the culmination of the festivities, the sky over Ventspils will be lit up by festive fireworks, but the celebrations will continue with night dances together with the groups "A Europa" and "Mazais Princis".
Sunday, August 2, The city festival will continue in a diverse atmosphere. Sports fans will continue to enjoy exciting activities at Ventspils Airport and the Beach Volleyball Stadium, while the youngest festival visitors will be delighted by foam parties at the Children's Town and the children's park "Fantāzija". The Seaside Open-Air Museum will traditionally host the Crafts Day, offering an opportunity to get to know ancient skills and craft traditions.At the end of the festivities, a special closing concert will be held in the "Latvija" concert hall, featuring world-renowned Latvian violinist Roberts Balanas and Brazilian guitarist Plínio Fernandes, giving the audience a sophisticated and emotionally charged conclusion to the festivities.
Ventspils City Festival is one of the largest and most anticipated summer events in Kurzeme, which annually attracts thousands of guests from all over Latvia and abroad.
