November and December is time when the centre of performing arts "Jūras vārti" invites to get acquainted with the world`s cultural diversity and to surrender to the charm of music by visiting the annual autumn concert session "Spices".

This year music lovers will be offered four performances of very different artists. Ventspils will host musicians from Hungary and France, as well as from the exotic African countries - Mali and Burkina Faso. Performances of local bands and individual artists will not be forgotten as well.

The programme of the concert session "Spices" will be opened on November 21 by "Ventspils Big Band" performance of original compositions of the world famous saxophonist, composer and arranger Bob Mintzer and the talented Latvian new generation composer Ritvars Garozs.

On November 29 a band "Debademba" will combine different African national music styles together with strong elements of the blues.

On December 4  the stage of the centre of performing arts "Jūras Vārti" will host the project “Tiguls. Hangs. Duduks" of the Latvian ambient music composer Raimons Tigulis.

On December 7 the concert session will be closed by a band "Airtist". Hungarian musicians will offer a unique programme by combining ethno music together with beatbox.

Organiser of the concerts is SIA "Kurzemes filharmonija" that offers to Ventspils, as well as to all Latvian music lovers high quality musical performances. Within the framework of the concert session "Spices" quite a few world-class artists had visited the city by the sea. In 2012 in the centre of performing arts "Jūras vārti" a musician "Kilema" from Madagascar and an extravagant Finnish multi-artist Jimi Tenor performed. While in 2011 the audience enjoyed a concert of the popular French band "Deep Forest", but in 2010 a performance of a Portuguese band "Orquestrada".
