The Knights Hillfort, the Livonian Order Castle Ruins, and the Castle Tower
The name - the Knights Hillfort (68 above the sea level) - was derived from the castle of the knights on this hilltop. This castle has been a fortificated Livonian Order sheriff (judge) castle, that was built from 1253 to 1259.  The castle remained inhabited until year 1750. However then it was announced to be uninhabitable and during the course of time, it turned into ruins. The castle tower has remained relatively intact. The locals call it the Powder Tower, because during the time of Duke Jacob, gunpowder was stored here.
