Observatory “Lielzeltiņi”

There is an observatory in Talsi region. And you can visit it!
Observatory “Lielzeltiņi”
Serges Kļimanskis, a businessman from Rīga that has astronomy as a hobby, was the initiator of the Observatory. He has chosen Balgale parish, because it is away from all of the city lights.

Right now you can do only visual observations, but in time it will be able to see what the sky above Balgale looks like on your computer, and even take pictures.

The dome of observatory is 3 meters in diameter, all automated and controlled from distance. Diameter of the telescope is 30 cm.

It is the perfect place where you can feel the greatness of universe, and comprehend how tiny we actually are.
