Summer is getting close, and very soon we will be able to enjoy the white sand of the Liepāja beach and a refreshing swim in the Baltic Sea! As usual, the beach season in Liepāja starts on May 15.

In the evening of 19 May residents and visitors of Ventspils will take part in the popular Friday evening walk “On the Way to the Festival”. More than 700 members of various Ventspils creative groups will sing, dance and play in their city before hitting the road to the Song and Dance Festival. Together, let’s experience the festive feeling and get in the mood for the journey to the Festival.

It's just a short time before the summer break and you can still gain new knowledge and bright emotions in Ventspils! Groups of schoolchildren from all over Latvia are invited to enjoy an exciting excursion. No one will be bored here!

Already this weekend, May 21 and 22 – one of the largest traditional cultural events in Latvia – the Līva Village Festival will take place in Liepāja!

Night of Museums to Take Place in Ventspils Museum on Saturday, 13 May. On Saturday, 13 May, Ventspils Museum will host a nightlife event in all of its locations and, in keeping with tradition, admission is free on the Night of Museums!

On Saturday, 6 May at 11:00, in the Adventure Park, the traditional exciting bike ride will mark the opening of the summer tourism and cycling season in Ventspils.

On 4 May at 16:00, the holiday concert entitled Whatever Will Be, Will Be will be taking place in the Concert Hall Latvija to celebrate the Day of the Restoration of Latvian Independence.

On May 13, after a 4-year break, the coastal hike "Coastline Trek" will return to Latvia! Anyone interested will be able to choose the most suitable distance and go on an 8, 16, 25, 50, 75 or 100 kilometres long coastal hike in Liepāja and Southern Kurzeme.

Liepāja restaurants and cafes will have prepared special offers, and throughout the week Liepāja residents and guests of the city will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of dishes and indulge in the atmosphere of Liepāja’s charming restaurants and cafes.

On 14 April at 19:00, the second concert entitled Crossing Borders of the concert series Jam Sessions with the Ventspils Big Band will be taking place in the Small Hall of the Concert Hall Latvija, featuring the Ventspils Big Band and its former members who are currently studying abroad, such as Denisa Dārzniece (vocal), Karlīna Priedēna (vocal), Kristers Lauriņš (saxophone), Krists Daubaris (trombone), and Ģirts Celmiņš (guitar).
