On August 24th and 25th, the traditional Belarusian Culture Days will take place in Ventspils, featuring the international festival "Summer Games" with a wide range of participants from various Latvian cities, as well as vocal ensembles from Poland and Lithuania. The Belarusian Culture Days are organized by the Belarusian Association "Spadčina."

This summer, 24 home cafes have signed up to participate, and to make it easier to visit several of them, we invite you to join us on both August 17-18 and August 24-25. All cafes will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the opportunity to linger afterwards.

In the final month of summer, at the creative workshops of the Ventspils Science Centre VIZIUM, everyone interested will have the opportunity to embark on a journey around the world. Through creative activities, participants will learn about world travellers, impressive bridges, and towers, explore dinosaurs and planets, and examine the impact of weather and water on the surrounding world. In August, the centre also offers a new science show “The Mysterious Planet”.

During the first weekend of August, Ventspils will celebrate its 700+34th birthday. Over the course of three days, there will be concerts, exhibitions, art performances, sports activities, delicious treats, and floral surprises. On Saturday, August 3rd, the festivities will conclude with a fireworks display on the Ostas Street promenade, which is particularly spectacular when reflected in the waters of the Venta River.

This year, the Ventspils Tourism Information Center is offering a unique opportunity for residents and city guests to explore the city on a free guided tour! The tour will take place on Friday, August 2nd, at 4:30 PM. During an exciting two-hour walk, participants will discover the charm of the old town, the scenic Ostas Street promenade, and the vibrantly blooming city center.

Ventspils Concert Hall "Latvia" will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a special concert on July 27, 2024, at 6:00 PM. This unique event marks five years since the concert hall opened its doors to visitors, becoming a significant cultural center in Ventspils and throughout Latvia.

GGFEST is the largest alternative sports and street culture festival in Europe. In 2024, from July 19 to 21, both - aspiring professionals and legendary veterans will gather in Ventspils to showcase their skills and compete for prestigious prizes in the presence of several thousand spectators.

From July 12th to 14th, Ventspils will host the "Kurland Bike Meet 2024," one of the largest motorcycle events in the Baltic States. During this traditional biker gathering, everyone interested will have the opportunity to explore the latest in the motorcycle world, lifestyle, and travel opportunities.

This year, the new part of the promenade on Ostas Street will welcome the visitors of the Sea Festival to let loose a grand celebration on 6 July. The unique buoy exhibitions and the popular environmental attractions "Love Lighthouse" and "Dzenskrūve", the festive program "Closer to the Sea" will delight every visitor.
