As Easter approaches, Ventspils, as every year, is festively decorated in the theme of the celebration. There is also a varied programme of events to suit all tastes, inviting you to visit Ventspils and the Ventspils District during the holidays to spend active time with your family!

On Saturday, 1 April, at 11:00, everyone is invited to the Snowdrop Planting Event in the Seaside Park behind the pond Ūdensrožu dīķis to welcome spring and plant a snowdrop. Participants can bring their own seedlings or obtain them at the planting site, as informed by the Ventspils Municipal Administration.

On 25 March at 18:00, Francis Poulenc’s Concerto for organ, strings, and timpani and Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem will be performed by the Ventspils Chamber Orchestra, mixed choir Ventspils, soloists Laura Grecka (mezzo-soprano), Rihards Mačanovskis (baritone), and Aigars Reinis (organ) in the Concert Hall Latvija. Choral conductor – Aigars Meri.

On Sunday, 9 April at 13:00, the concert entitled Upon Sunrise as part of the music sessions The Sunday of Organ Music will be taking place in the Concert Hall Latvija, featuring performances by the soloist at the Latvian National Opera, Marlēna Keine (soprano), and the member of the organ duo Riga Organum Duo, Ilona Birģele.

On New Year’s Eve, on December 31, at 11.30 p.m., residents of Ventspils and guests of our city are welcome to meet the New Year 2023 together on the Big Square (Lielais laukums).

As the Christmas is drawing near, Ventspils lights up in thousands of festive lights. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a ride in the Christmas train “Ventspils Train”.
