Ventspils Tourism Information Centre (TIC) has published new tourism information materials: brochures and maps that introduce the city's current news, most popular attractions and most important events in 2026.

The city of Ventspils invites Ventspils residents and guests to the Great Square on December 31 to celebrate and welcome the New Year – 2026. The festive mood will be created from 11:30 p.m. by the attractive music group “Laika upe”, which will delight with a program of popular domestic and internationally known songs.

On the third day of Advent, December 14, at 1:00 p.m., Polish musician Jan Bartolomej Bokščanin invites you to Sunday organ music at the “Latvija” concert hall, offering light music for the time of waiting.

On 28 February 2026 at 4:00 PM, a magnificent and festive 30th anniversary ceremony of the Latvian Music Recording Award “Zelta mikrofons” will take place at the Olympic Centre “Ventspils”.

Throughout December, Ventspils glows with festive lights, offering a rich cultural program, heartwarming family events, creative workshops, special deals, leisure opportunities, winter entertainment, and New Year’s Eve celebrations. This year, Ventspils invites residents and visitors to embark on a special holiday adventure. To ensure that no festive miracle goes unnoticed, a Christmas guide has been created, making it easy to navigate the diverse range of offerings in Ventspils.

Starting from 29 November, the beloved Christmas train will return to the streets of Ventspils, offering residents and visitors a 20-minute journey filled with music and lights through the festively decorated city until 31 December.

On November 29, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the streets and squares of Ventspils will be filled with the spirit of Christmas anticipation – the city’s Christmas trees will be lit, along with the interactive holiday adventure “Dwarfs’ Light Walk.” This year, the opening of the festive season will be special – three Christmas tree lighting events will come together in one shared story of a glowing pathway, inviting both children and adults to take part.

The Ventspils Digital Centre, in cooperation with the Ventspils Tourist Information Centre and guide Iveta Rīvāne, invites Ventspils residents and city guests to take part in the educational and interactive activity “Discover Ventspils!”, which offers an exciting opportunity to explore the city’s most significant cultural and historical landmarks.
