On the evening of Friday, May 24, we will go for our traditional evening walk to participate in events centered around the theme “TOY(is)PLAY.” Along the route from the Great Square to the Old Town Market Square, there will be activities for audiences of all ages. While play is most often associated with the way children explore the world, Friday evening in the city's streets, squares, parks, and courtyards will be engaging for both young people and adults as well.

European Museum Night is an international museum event that has been taking place in many European countries since 2005. Alongside traditional exhibitions, various special events are held, including creative workshops, concerts, and theater performances. The event typically runs from Saturday evening until the early hours of Sunday morning. Admission to museums during the event is free of charge.

On May 18th, for the sixteenth time, we will celebrate the Pārventa Festival. This time, the festival program promises to be a sweet surprise, gathering Pārventa residents in a festive procession, various creative activities, and a specially prepared concert featuring the young musician Emīlija Bērziņa and the attractive group “Deep Violet”. Just like in life, when the heart of a sixteen-year-old is full of splendid dreams, the spark of youth, and a desire for sweet adventures.

On 11 May at 11:00 in Adventure Park, the Ventspils summer tourism and cycling season will open with a bike ride. The motto of this year’s cycling event is “Olympic Cycling Sparks”, chosen in connection with the Summer Olympic Games to be held in Paris this year.

Among the theatre performances and concerts in May, the 15th birthday concert of the theatre house "Jūras vārti" promises to become the most ambitious event of cultural life in Ventspils.

As the 4th of May - the Independence Restoration Day of the Republic of Latvia - approaches, the city's urban planning for the upcoming celebrations has begun. A varied programme of events is also planned for the days of celebration.

The Concert Hall “Latvija” and the Theatre House “Jūras vārti” invite you to various genre and style concerts, theatre, and dance performances in April, allowing visitors to enjoy both local artists and prominent guests from abroad.

The Science and Education Innovation Center (ZIIC) in collaboration with the Latvian Ornithological Society within the framework of the project "Bird Watching Network along the Baltic Sea coast", is organizing and inviting everyone interested in participating in the "Bird Day" activities on April 6th, from 11:00 to 14:00. The events will take place in the territory of Zirgu Island.

As the Easter celebrations approach, the City of Ventspils, as every year, has prepared a wide and varied programme of events to suit all tastes! During the festive weekend, everyone is invited to take spring walks through the city, and spend active and educational time in a family atmosphere.

The first month of spring - March - will be filled with concerts, dance performances and theatre productions of various genres and styles at the Concert Hall "Latvija" and the Theatre House "Jūras vārti".
