The answer to this question can be found on May 9 in Ventspils, where from 10:00 to 13:00 the opening event of the summer tourism and cycling season will be complemented by the XI Latvian Tourism Information Market 2026. It will bring together tourism representatives from Latvia and Lithuania, offering ideas for holidays, trips and summer trips.

The 36th anniversary of the restoration of the Independence of the Republic of Latvia will be celebrated in Ventspils with a diverse festive program. During the holiday week, the city will be decorated with festive decorations, and various events will be held for both families with children and adults, offering cultural, entertainment and active recreation opportunities.

Ventspils Digital Center, in cooperation with Ventspils Tourism Information Center, continues the activity started last year, inviting everyone to actively explore the city's most important cultural and historical sites. Participants must go for a walk or bike ride and, using a smartphone, search for various sites and complete tasks, discovering interesting facts about the history, culture and national values ​​of Ventspils and Latvia.

From this year, May 1, Ventspils Adventure Park will start the summer season and will again offer active recreation and entertainment services every day. The Adventure Park will now have a toboggan run every day, an amusement zone and rope courses will be available. Picnic areas and event tents are also available with prior registration, and we invite you to have fun in the Wakepark, paintball and laser tag areas with prior registration.

On Friday, May 1, from 10:00 to 17:00, the Seaside Open-Air Museum (Riņķa Street 2) will be open to visitors to the 19th century peasant and fisherman's homesteads of the Kurzeme coast. Each farm will offer visitors activities - they will be able to learn something new about the ancient household customs and way of life in the Kurzeme fishing villages.

On May 9, the Ventspils summer tourism and cycling season will be opened with a bike ride at the Adventure Park. At 10:15, the first participants of the children's ride will set off on the track - the length of the track is 2.1 km, but at 11:00, the start will be given for the 8.6 km distance.
